Manager I, Project Management

Advanced Bionics Corporation is a global leader in the development of implantable, high-technology neurostimulation devices. Our bionic technologies include new treatments for deafness and chronic pain.

A. Primary Function
• Project Manager of Auditory Cochlear Implant projects
B. Duties and Responsibilities
• Create and maintain project plans and project schedules
• Estimate required resources and project costs
• Coordinate activities of the project team
• Track actual performance against planned performance
• Address project issues affecting project goals and deliverables
• Assess impact of all changes to project goals and project scope
• Report project status to senior staff
• Maintain Design History files
• Monitor post-release product performance
C. Specialized Knowledge & Skills
• Must be strong in people management and team building
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be articulate
• Must have strong program management skills
• Must be proficient with MS Project or other program management tools
• Prefer knowledge in product development methodologies
D. Experience
• 5+ years job related experience as a Project Manager
• Ability to integrate with R&D, Marketing, Product Engineering, Materials management and Production
• Management of electro-mechanical product development from project inception to commercial release
• Able to communicate clearly with team members and senior management
• Application of product development process with new development and released products
• Knowledge and application of Microsoft Project based on scope and objectives
• Background with medical devices is a plus
E. Education & Training
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering : Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Software
• Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Access
• Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tool
