Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America located in Peachtree City is looking for a Purchasing Manager to manage, plan, coordinate, and direct the overall activities within the purchasing and materials area assigned toward the identified financial, quantity, and quality goals of the Company. Assist with budget control under the direction of senior management.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManages relative activities and projects either directly or through assigned staff.Responsible for the development of and maintenance of an effective vendor selection program to be used to qualify vendors and ensure timely parts and materials delivery.Reviews orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as models, quantities, specification of products, and schedule delivery dates and creates appropriate plan of response.Manages the MPS process in conjunction with factory operations to ensure that appropriate quantities of materials are received.Responds to production and quality reports to resolve applicable problems and prevent production loss due to late deliveries of materials.Responsible for management of warehouse inventory to minimum efficient levels.May revise or coordinate the revision of standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with standards.Provides support for quality activities as appropriate.Responsible for assuring that the area(s) of responsibility meet the objectives of the business plan.Informs senior management of progress and problems in area of responsibility.Provides support for business proposal activity related to area of responsibility.May assist in supervision of, counseling of, establishing performance standards and review for, and the discipline of employees.Provides direction for the training and development of employees.Maintains and improves employee morale.Interprets, enforces and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.Will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.Performs other related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSFour-year college degree in management, business, education, operations, industrial or a related field and five (5) years related purchasing/supply chain experience or a minimum of seven (7) years related purchasing/supply chain experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
