The successful candidate will be responsible for:* Sales & Profit Targets and Demand Forecast for the region* Direct interaction on a daily basis with distribution and installation contractors to develop demand for the company's ventilation products utilizing a technical & educational approach and is capable of making sound day-to-day business decisions independently. * Independently planning a sales program that is designed to meet the targets of the company and the needs of the region. Sales program is based on detailed analysis of data related to region and presented in compelling manner through use of the IT tools.* Maintaining clear written records of all contacts and potential business in the format requested by management.* Developing and maintaining distribution channels within the region under guidelines established by the company.* Expanding Panasonic?s performance in delivering Extreme Customer Satisfaction to end-users of our products.* Maintaining sales expenses within budget.* Identifying new sales representatives and potential problems with existing sales representatives or distribution and recommending action to be taken - in consultation with management.The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:* Highly talented "people-person" who is able to see through "human" business issues and find solutions for them.* At least at a basic technical level be able to identify, research, and solve contractor/end under installation and product use issues. Use own knowledge or that of others in the organization to advise best product for particular application.* Is able to clearly identify business vs. technical problems and either resolve or escalate appropriately in the best interest of the customer and/or company.* Understands own limitations and establishes methods to attract resources to assist where necessary* Able to learn new IT based efficiency tools quickly.And will have the following experience and training: * Bachelor's Degree * At least 5 years experience in direct sales, preferably 10.* Broad knowledge of distribution strategies, business reasons underlying those strategies and first hand experience in tactical implementation.* Technical or hands-on background in the HVAC field highly desirable. Alternatively, a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly is acceptable.* Deep knowledge of US local building codes and future trends.* Highly competent in use of a personal computer particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Outlook with ability to acquire new skills with corporate business systems.And will be a talented Communicator who is:* Able to communicate with all stakeholders in a timely and effective way. Responds rapidly to all inquiries (at a minimum within one business day).* Able to educate best practice to installation contractors at both the level of management and labor in a way that encourages the use of the company's products as well as its preferred method of installation.* Able to articulate problems and solutions in concise, simple to understand language at appropriate levels: laborer, contractor, distributor, specifying engineer, and architect.* Able to prepare convincing arguments to close a major sale.And finally, due to the nature of the position will be able to meet the following minimum Physical Requirements:* Carry sample product and merchandizing displays into and out of customer locations, carry and deliver for shipment and load/unload form car/van frequently. Typically able to carry 40lbs load by self.* Load, unload, setup custom displays for trade shows etc. Typically able to carry 40lbs load by self.
