Summary Of Position:Manage all activities related to technical publications for Panasonic Avionics. This includes internal teams that write technical documents and g third party suppliers that produce aircraft manuals and documents. Responsible for interfacing with Airlines and OEMs to maintain documentation requirements and company delivery performance. Duties:1. Remotely manages hardware service bulletin group in Bothell, Washington. The function of this group is writing hardware service bulletins for in-flight entertainment equipment modifications. 2. Directly manage engineering documentation group in Lake Forest California. This group creates quality documents, test documentation, technical specifications, for in-flight entertainment equipment 3. Directly manage software service bulletin group in Lake Forest California. This group writes software services bulletins and documents for in-flight entertainment software loaded on commercial aircraft. 4. Keeps informed as to new technological advances in the IFE field, and possible sources of training opportunities. 5. Responsible for the process required to acquire technical source data required to produce the wide variety of documentation needed for Panasonic hardware and software. 6. Responsible for managing third party technical publications providers that produce aircraft manuals and service bulletins for Panasonic 7. Periodically reviews team member performance and goals. Coordinates with individual group supervisors for continual process and performance improvement 8. Responsible for managing department budget. Qualifications Required:MANAGEMENT: ($, employees, and other resources managed) Management experience is essential to this role. Must be able to lead a team and manage vendors efficiently COMMUNICATIONS: (key communications contacts and level of persuasion required) Strong verbal and communication skills required. Must be able to communicate to supervisors and team members and report to management on many levels. Must have strong customers skills and be able to work cooperatively with vendors to deliver the best quality documents on schedule PROBLEM-SOLVING:(complexity of problems, creativity and other problem-solving requirements) Must have analytical skills and the ability to resolve process problems. KNOW-HOW: (education, experience and other knowledge requirements) Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience At least 10 years in the technical publications industry, with a minimum of 2 years in management. Advanced knowledge of ATA specifications and the general requirements of the aircraft industry. Experience in commonly used computer software programs, particularly MSWord, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with CorelDraw and CAD programs is recommended. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. Preferred: Additional experience in the training field, curriculum development and creating training documentation is desired.
