Manufacturing Engineer/Production Supervisor

ENHANCED VISION is a rapidly expanding high tech company located in Huntington Beach, California.  We design and manufacture a variety of electronic products for people who are visually impaired and are considered the technology leader in this field.

 

The Manufacturing Engineer/Production Supervisor will be a key member of the Engineering team and will work collaboratively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality to bring new products to market and to optimize our existing products. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manufacturing Engineering Responsibilities:Strong knowledge in new product introduction (NPI) techniquesOrganizing, planning, commissioning and maintaining production lines; Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes; Handling equipment purchase and installation; Investigating operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic, methodical manner; Preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture; Coordinating projects; Providing manufacturing data; Identifying ways to reduce production costs; Working with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs; Liaising with research and development departments; Understanding and analyzing graphs and statistics and other complex information; Liaising with suppliers and customers; JIT manufacturing, kanban, material controls, warehouse processes, work order & production planning experience required;  Implementation of Continuous improvement & Quality control processes  Project management.

 

Production Supervisor Responsibilities Planning the use of resources and scheduling activities in order to meet an objective; Training and supervising production staff members; Interviewing and staffing production department;Ability to motivate production staff;Able to multi-task and to keep organized in a fast paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Manufacture Engineering. At least 5 years of progressively increasing experience in electro–mechanical assembly.Familiarity with ISO9000 methods.Strong project management skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to be a team player in a collaborative and non-political environment.Extremely organized with good follow thru.Able to understand and speak English & VietnameseFamiliar using PE and CAD a plus.
