Marketing Database Manager

Job Responsibilities:
As the Marketing Database Manager you will drive the consolidation and managment of contact and company information for use in Database Marketing and Customer Retention. You will also be responsible for working with the global team to acquire new contacts and continually cleanse and enhance the data.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Management of the North America Marketing (NAM) Database (Email & Direct mail) includes:

Successful completion of database builds and enhancements and other Direct Marketing database projects

Maintain a working knowledge of industry standards and best practices in database marketing

Support ongoing maintenance of NAM database

Manage external vendors contracted to support the Marketing Database.

Assist in development of worldwide best practices/processes in Data Stewardship

Complete scheduled updates on time and within budget

Facilitate ease of use and accessibility

Ensure required functionality to meet Marketing Communication needs

Provide reporting services as needed

Monitor data integrity and facilitate the resolution of data issues

Ensure the appropriate level of data cleansing is completed

Maintain, as the system of record, contact and company communication (suppression) preferences

Facilitate the use of data append sources and services

Pull lists from source databases and provide quality metrics back to source owners for issue resolution

Assist in understanding database structure and record availability

Communicate business, system, quality, and integration requirements and to Business System Analysts

Qualified candidates will possess a 4-year degree in Business / Marketing, MIS, or equivalent experience. 1-3 years experience in Database management or Circulation Management preferred. Additionally, the candidate should have a solid understanding of core business processes, experience with process definition and strong project management skills. Very good verbal and written communication skills are required as are strong computer skills with MS SQL, Access, Excel, Project, Visio and/or other common database platforms. Candidate must have demonstrated problem solving, analytical and time management skills. International/domestic travel may be required.
