JOB SUMMARY

This position requires an aggressive individual who will drive the tactical execution of materials procurement through our supply chain for our Contract Manufacturing and Burn-In Board Divisions.  The individual will leverage the infrastructure to implement robust purchasing and business processes.  The individual will be the primary interface for material procurement and management and be responsible for reporting, resolving, and escalating material issues as required.  The individual will also support the generation of quotes for customer RFQs.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Requires strong skills in change management, problem solving, communication, customer orientation, global business perspective, project management, team skills and attention to quality.

§  Ability to apply best practices to develop a purchasing a team.

§  Leverage the infrastructure to implement and manage commitment methodologies and processes.

§  Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.

§  Implement and execute sourcing processes (including but not limited to spend analysis, writing and executing requests for proposals, leading supplier negotiations, and leveraging market pricing analysis to obtain cost reductions.

§  Effectively source parts through manufacturers, distribution channels, and brokers. Develop relationships within the supply chain for expedites and reschedules as required.

§  Aggressively support Sales in the quotation process in responding to Customer RFQs.

§  Monitor the on time performance of suppliers and review results to them and management monthly. Develop and implement action plans with the manufacturing engineer to improve the quality and on time performance of suppliers while maintaining or reducing costs.

§  Responsible for placing purchase orders for new and existing production or non-production materials, goods or services. As required, reviews invoices with accounts payable when price or terms do not agree with the purchase order.

§  Participate on cross functional teams and demonstrates an ability to develop and foster cooperative relationships, presents ideas logically and articulately to peers and to upper Management. 

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

§  Strong understanding of Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, and Sub-contracts is required.

§  Global sourcing, particularly in Asia.

§  7+ years of purchasing in the contract manufacturing industry.

§  Ability to analyze situations accurately and develop effective course of action.

§  Demonstrated ability to establish trust and credibility, follow through on commitments.

§  Capable of prioritizing activities.

§  Effective communicator both verbal and written.
