Mechanical Designer

McCain, Inc. a leader in traffic management systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support Applications Engineering in the design of electronic enclosures, components and assemblies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Design and document the construction of electronic enclosures and components.

- Create solid model parts and assemblies.

- Create drawing files from part and assembly models.

- Create and incorporate Engineering Change Notices.

- Assist Sales in interpreting specifications.

- Assist Sales and Marketing in the preparation of cut sheet data.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Must be proficient in SolidWorks.  Sheet metal modeling a must.

- Must be creative and able to work as a member of the design team.

- Must be able to work from specifications, rough sketches and verbal instructions.

- Must have good communication skills.

- Must be familiar with MRP systems for creating bill of materials.

- AutoCad experience a plus.

 



Education/Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience.

- 3 years experience in SolidWorks required. 

- Desirable computer skills: Windows, Windows Office Suite.

- Sheet metal manufacturing experience a plus.

 

Special Requirements:

- Must be able to sit for long periods of time. 

- May be required to work overtime.

- Must able to manage multiple projects at a given time.
