Mftg Electrical Engineer

Daylight Solutions is a dynamic, rapidly growing company, whose products include laser sources based on Quantum Cascade Laser technology and detectors for Mid-IR wavelengths. These products are being integrated in molecular detection and imaging systems for use in a variety of industrial, homeland security, and medical applications.

 

We have an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to assist in manufacturing operations, expansion of our Mid-IR laser product portfolio, and new R&D projects. This position requires a self-starting electrical engineer with the following range of skills:

 Electrical test of circuit boards and systems Test fixture and related software development for manufacturing & development Analog & digital circuit design experienceSchematic capture Printed circuit board development & release to production Familiarity with laboratory test equipment & troubleshooting of circuit issuesHands-on SMT circuit assembly & repair experienceManagement of technicians in production or development environmentResponsible for product release from Engineering to Production release

 



The engineer’s primary responsibility will be supporting the assembly and test of Daylight Solutions electronics by writing procedures, establishing test methods, and working with suppliers. The electronics being manufactured will range from general purpose laser control systems for research markets to customized electronic modules for specific OEM customer requirements.  Prior experience in manufacturing electronics for optical systems is highly applicable.

 

This position also provides an opportunity for the engineer to contribute to the development of new laser sources for both the scientific and OEM markets. In addition to designing circuits, an important role will be to assist Daylight Solutions scientists with the transition of new optical designs from the conceptual to manufacturable product phase.

 

The candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast moving entrepreneurial environment.

 

Minimum requirements: BSEE or MSEE with minimum 5 years experience
