Position Description:

Purpose of this Group:The Advanced Process Technology group develops and transfers to production, all of Spansion’s NVM silicon process technology. Seamless collaboration with the Device/Integration, Yield/Reliability and sustaining Fab teams delivers leading edge silicon technology in support of Spansion’ product roadmap. This team of dedicated, energetic professionals, utilize the state of the art 300mm process equipment in the Submicron Development Center. They evaluate and select next generation tools, develop and characterize process recipes, and help integrate advanced Lithography, Etch, Thin Films, Diffusion, Ion Implant, CMP, and Copper interconnect modules, currently focused on the 32nm technology node.Job Description:Select, qualify and characterize new Front End of Line metrology, oxidation and deposition equipment and processes for 300mm, 32/22nm Flash technologies. Designs new Wafer Fab processes for memory dielectrics and doping that will improve yields and performance. Designs or selects new Wafer Fab equipment to accommodate new processes. Modifies existing Wafer Fab equipment to accommodate new processes. Trains, guides, and directs less experienced process development engineers. Oversees pilot line processes to ensure new processes are performed according to specifications. Identifies and solves potential production problems. Develops process project plans, establishes key parameters and project aims including resource loading. Works on related Flash projects and/or assignments as needed. Problem Solving Skills:Uses statistics to analyze data to make process tradeoffs. Ensures that all process steps are mutually compatible and will operate in a production environment. Compares documented strengths and weaknesses of equipment to actual performance. Uses statistically designed experiments to solve process problems and guide development. Decision Making Skills:Analyzes needs and makes proposals on equipment purchase. Identifies project manpower, facilities, and support needed. Establishes project priorities.

Qualifications:

Ph.D., Materials Sci., Physics, Chem. or Elect. Eng. desired with minimum 4 year experienceMasters Degree with 10 years
