NC Programmer

Intro:

Job Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for computer programming for computerized numerically
controlled manufacturing equipment. Recommends changes in machining processes to
enhance efficiency and/or quality. Determines set-up and tooling requirements for
alternate methods of machining. Revises and/or updates programs to reflect shop,
engineering or program changes. Provides technical support for NC equipment.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Creates programs for standard and special parts for computerized numerically
controlled turret presses and lasers.
B. Reviews blueprints for machine assignment, draws parts on CAD system,
determines tooling needs, generates set-up sheets and creates program folders.
C. Maintains program database which includes the processing of engineering change
orders and updating office and factory records.
D. Provides technical support for NC equipment which includes solving program
problems and training setup operators.
E. Investigates cost and time saving options for programming and production.
F. Maintains programming equipment and supplies.
