On-Site Service Technician - A/V
Purpose of Position
Provide on-site technical, installation, service and maintenance support for an Electrosonic client based in New York City, NY. The selected candidate will also participate in installations and commissioning of projects.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Provide on-site first line emergency and preventative service to client. Requires troubleshooting, replacing and/or repairing AV & VC systems and related equipment.
2. Accountable for the overall customer satisfaction of the site.
3. Arrange for product returns and/or exchanges with the service department.
4. Daily equipment checks to ensure equipment is operational. Management of preventative maintenance & daily check schedules.
5. Manage database for customer assets, consumables and repairs.
6. Assist in training of client’s staff.
7. Provide technical phone support (e.g. answer questions, troubleshoot suggestions) to customer.
8. Provide Service Phone support to customer.
9. Provide Service Coordinator with assigned call number and close-out paperwork / information in a timely manner.
10. Provide all documentation in a timely manner (e.g. material and labor reports, preventative maintenance reports, expense reports, job costing records, timesheets).
11. Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed by the immediate manager.
Skills
1. Outstanding customer service ability.
2. Able to deal with difficult and demanding customers.
3. Always presents a positive image of self and company.
4. Good communication skills, verbal and written.
5. Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, schematics, and training manuals.
6. Ability to operate multi-meter, oscilloscope and other related industry and test equipment.
7. Computer literate e.g. Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and scheduling programs, as well as a good understanding of computer functionality.
8. Basic knowledge of programming software such as AMX and Crestron.
9. Detail oriented.
10. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
11. Able to lift 50 pounds.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. Technical degree/certificate or equivalent job experience
2. “Hands-on” strong background in the support of multi-venue video conference events.
3. Minimum 3 years related experience.
Personal Protective Equipment and Other Requirements
1. Valid driver’s license. Good driving record.
2. Technical tools including multi-meter.
