Responsibilities
KLA-Tencor's Surfscan division is looking to recruit a highly adaptive DUV optics integration lead engineer with laser optics lens design expertise for specifying and managing the fabrication, alignment, and integration processes to be followed for a next generation DUV wafer inspection system - a flagship product of a $1B+ semiconductor capital equipment manufacturer. The candidate will interact with the most dynamically integrated and DUV knowledgeable companies in the optics industry to develop complete opto-mechanical module solutions having sufficient degrees of freedom to meet module performance goals while not destabilizing the overall optical system. In developing these highly-robust opto-mechanical modules, careful attention to every fabrication detail including selection of DUV bulk materials, coating materials and deposition process, critical component and subsystem test criteria, transmitted wavefront and PSD/BRDF profiles, raw beam and M-squared laser parameter goals will be required and codified. In addition, how/when the optical system should be integrated, adjusted, and calibrated both during final integration and in the field must be carefully thought through and understood to avoid cost and cycle time overruns.

Qualifications
Candidate should have all requisite skills to design/tolerance and assemble/test optical subsystems/modules while handling multiple vendor interactions and internal/external design reviews. This would include but is not limited to proficiency in CodeV (our design group standard) and at least one 3-D (non-sequential) modeling tool (LightTools, ASAP, FRED) to simulate and perturb both individual components and entire subsystems to do fabrication/alignment error as well as long-term DUV exposure degradation studies. Candidate must demonstrate track record of successful completion of internal project milestones and deliverables on time and with limited supervision. Knowledge of optical assembly, metrology, and alignment techniques and protocols is highly desirable. Ability to travel both in US and abroad is required. Project management and milestone tracking is a plus.
