At present, we have an excellent opportunity for an Oracle Middleware Engineer in our Melville, NY and Denver, CO location. The Oracle Middleware Engineer is responsible for the system design and architecture of the Oracle ERP infrastructure. The Middleware Engineer's primary focus is to design, administer, maintain, and set policies/standards for one or more of the infrastructure applications managed by the ERP Engineering team. These infrastructure applications include Oracle Application Server 10g, Oracle Portal Server, Oracle SOA Suite, and OID/SSO/LDAP. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Installation and configuration of the Oracle 10g application server - Installation and configuration of the Oracle Portal Sever - Integration E-Business Suite and Oracle Application Servers with OID/SSO/LDAP - Installation and Configuration of the Oracle SOA Suite - Design and configuration of Oracle application Server 10g for High Availability - E-Business and Oracle Portal Server integration - Develop and prepare operational documentation required to support recommendations and solutions to the business and IT - Identify and develop operational procedures to support Oracle technologies - Provide 3rd level-support on call support for Oracle technologies BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Deep knowledge of Middleware technologies such as Apache, J2EE, Messaging, LDAP, B2B, Portal, ESB, Collaboration, and Integration servers - Knowledge of Oracle Application Server 9i & 10g - Knowledge of Linux and/or Unix operating systems is required - Knowledge of Oracle DB 10g and RAC - Excellent working knowledge of network architecture, protocols, topologies, and gateways - Experience automating system administration tasks through shell scripting (Perl, KSH) - Excellent working knowledge of network architecture, protocols, topologies, and gateways - Proven ability to independently analyze and solve complex technical problems involving web servers, operating systems, java virtual machines, database servers, firewalls, network interfaces, and routing. - Proven ability to assimilate and apply technologies through independent research - Client and team relationship/interaction skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - High level of initiative and ownership of projects - Proven ability to estimate work efforts for complex technology implementations, deliver results, and meet deadlines by using good time management skills - Experience managing a highly available production environment, including minimizing risks of routine and scheduled environment changes We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, which includes tuition reimbursement, employee stock ownership plan, health and dental plans, 401(k), and a unique sabbatical program.
