PRODUCTION PLANNER

                               Production Planner

 

A New York City based manufacturer of high-end architectural products, is looking for a MRP Controller/Production Planner. You will be primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of production scheduling-raw materials to final shipping-in a job shop environment, taking into consideration available capacity, raw material inventory levels, and customer order requirements.

 

About us: Our company is very customer oriented and known for producing very high quality custom designed products. Therefore, it is imperative that you can employ lean manufacturing and single piece demand flow techniques to minimize production bottlenecks, and inefficient production processes. You will also be an integral part of the operations team responsible for developing and monitoring key performance indicators.

 

Work Nature: You will coordinate and lead regular meetings to insure the execution of actual production against plan, and  be able to get at the root cause of variances utilizing root cause analysis to help develop and implement workable solutions to identified problems.

 

As our MRP Controller, you will have to monitor closely min/max levels of raw materials in our stock room to insure acceptable lead times for our line of standard products.

 

Your participation as a team member on continuous improvement projects, including but not limited to system migration, visual factory floor controls, 5S and lean projects is vital to achieving our operational objectives.

 

Qualification & Experience: The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in a planning/supply chain position within a manufacturing environment. However, overall experience may substitute for a degree.

 

Strong leadership, oral, written and presentation skills are essential, along with being well organized, dependable and a team player.

 

Experience using MRP/ERP systems and familiarity with Vantage/Epicore software is a plus. APICS Certification would also be helpful.
