Packaging & Fulfillment Commodity Specialist

Responsibilities1.  Lead Packaging/Fulfillment Commodity teams·  Establish and maintain approved supplier list and capability matrix.·  Work within the team to establish the company’s strategy and direction within the given commodity.  Adapt the strategy as business, market, and economic environments change.·  Conduct Life-Cycle analysis for commodity, as appropriate·  Identify cost reduction opportunities within the team and drive implementation to achieve the reductions.·  Populate supplier scorecard (R/Y/G)2.  Initiate and conduct annual supplier contract negotiations with Purchasing Manager·  Conduct spend analysis, leading to negotiation with supply base·  Lead/Co-lead pricing negotiations ·  Establish terms and conditions for contracts3.  Analyze market trends·  Conduct market analysis for:1.  Price2.  Lead-time3.  Capacity·  Set up speculative buys·  Analyze market drivers affecting the commodity (raw material, component availability, global supply and demand, etc.)4.  Conduct supplier business reviews·  Utilize standardized agenda ·  Conduct technology roadmap alignment – Coordinate with Engineering·  Identify cost reduction opportunities·  Review delivery performance·  Review quality performance·  Review contract performance5.  Coordinate supplier technology presentations for engineering.  Introduce new suppliers to Shure engineering when necessary and assist in educating Shure engineering about the approved supplier list.  6.  Support SSS role in supplier selection process for BRT’s·  Establish standard pricing for newly created parts7.  Responsibility for overall supplier relationship for the established commodities.8.  Generate cost reduction targets (not just PPV, but also cost avoidance)9.  Participate in establishing and maintaining best practices for Strategic Sourcing and reporting of objectives·  PPV and Cost Avoidance reports10.  Commodity code classification system (ensure they are correct/create new)11.  Conduct Bill of Material (BOM) “scrubsâ€� for new projects to insure that the established strategies are being enforced and that obsolete or non-preferred parts/suppliers are not being used in new designs.12.  Support and participate on corporate project teams that involve changes or implications to responsible commodity.Qualifications·  Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technically related field, or equivalent experience.·  6+ years exp. in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a technical position in a medium to high-volume manufacturing environment.  Background with packaging (corrugated and chipboard), thermo-forming and/or product literature is a plus·  Competence with MS Office software, MS Excel and MS Access is a plus·  Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and project management skills required·  Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify/evaluate manufacturing processes and technologies to ensure “best costâ€� solutions for purchased components and new product cost parameters·  Demonstrated negotiation skills·  High standards of integrity required·  High energy level and strong self-motivation required·  Planning and organizational skills with an ability to handle a multitude of projects required·  Professional designations or Certifications by recognized Purchasing organizations preferred, i.e. CPM. APPLY NOW!
