Job Description Physicist A leading developer and manufacture of scientific instruments specializing in radiation detection is searching for an experienced, Principle Scientist to advance best-practice and the state-of-the-art in radiation detection systems as they pertain to security and radio-isotope identification. The Principle Scientist will be expected to work collaboratively within the organization, local and corporate, with business partners, government contractors and subcontractors. The local organization comprises engineering, manufacturing, customer service and administrative activities. The Principle Scientist is responsible for demonstrating and recommending technology improvement to current, state-of-the-art radiation detector and system design through theoretical and laboratory research and experimentation. The Principle Scientist will work with, and will have the opportunity to direct the work of, a small team of experts in the pursuit of better technologies and technological improvements. The Pr. Scientist will conduct designed experiments to demonstrate or illustrate ideas. Experimental results are expected to build on the knowledge base and contribute to the intellectual property and technology of the company. The Principle Scientist reports to the Engineering Manager.
