Challenging opportunities for personal and professional growth Privately owned, values-based company  In business since 1924 with 30+ years of continuous profitability Turnover consistently less than 2% over past 10+ years Competitive compensation and benefits package About The Open Position   We are seeking a Plant Accountant for our Troy, Michigan location who excels at the following: Performing regular review of inventory variances ensuring consistency with current financial conditions and communicating to necessary individuals.  Responsible for inventory costing including the updating and maintenance of standard and current costs according to GAAP and GHSP procedures. Preparing and maintaining an overhead analysis to be used in costing and cost estimating.  Work with the Cost Accountant on new launches and changes to current production parts. Directs and has overall responsibility for the plant in general and property accounting, internal auditing, payroll, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. Supports the month and year end closing by timely completion of required procedures and reports. Identify and recommend continuous improvement suggestions including implementation of approved changes. Assesses results and controls in terms of costs, budgets, trends, etc.  Providing financial insight to engineering on process changes, appropriation requests, and other financial decisions. Develope and manage the plant planning, forecasting, and budgeting process Develops and manages assigned finance team members to meet business objectives

Is this the right job for you?   You could be right for this job if you have: Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in Accounting. Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
