Process Development Engineer I-II (2nd Shift)

We currently have an opening for a Process Development Engineer in our Solid State Lighting group.

Department: SSL R&D
Schedule: 2nd shift, manufacturing. One weekend day (5 day scheduled work week)

Position Description
Cree is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on engineer to assist in developing solid state lighting solutions. You will work with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and transfer into production new LED-based solid state lighting products and processes. The successful candidate will be a resourceful, hands-on, problem solver with a strong aptitude for learning new skills.

Position Requirements
· BS/MS in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other technical field
· 0-5 years of semiconductor or package product/process development preferred. Entry level candidates encouraged to apply.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills
· Willing/able to learn and perform as necessary all tasks related to automated and manual LED assembly processes. (e.g. wirebond, die attach, encapsulation, etc.).
· Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
· Willing and open to travel - both domestic and international.
