Process Engineer

MeiVac is seeking an experienced process engineer whose primary focus will be the development and optimization of dielectric and metal vacuum deposition processes used in the manufacture of Hard Disk Drive Thin Film Heads.  The successful candidate will have direct, hands-on experience developing sputter deposition hardware and processes.  Ion source development and utilization will be a plus.  This person will become an integral part of a multi-disciplined team that not only develops new products and processes, but also supports MeiVac’s installed base of vacuum deposition systems.

 

A BS in physics, chemistry, material science or equivalent is required.  Advanced degrees are preferred.  The successful candidate will have 8+ years of process engineering or related experience with vacuum deposition and/or etching tools, at least 3 years of which involve sputtering and/or ion beam deposition technologies.  Demonstrated success managing relationships with customers in process intensive manufacturing environments will be important.

  

MeiVac brings over 30 years of experience to the design, manufacture and support of high technology vacuum deposition and etch systems used in process intensive applications ranging from R&D to production.  MeiVac is best known for its family of alumina deposition tools that are extensively used in the manufacture of Hard Disk Drive Thin Film Heads.  Additionally, MeiVac designs and manufactures a wide range of vacuum components such as throttle valves and sputter sources.
