Process Engineer - Photolithography

Contour Semiconductor is a venture backed company with innovative and patented technology for developing and manufacturing the worlds lowest cost, highest density, solid state memory devices.

 

This individual will work closely with Contour’s Process Development Engineering group located in San Jose, California, and contribute to the development and transfer to manufacturing of key new fabrication processes. The development work will be performed at contract foundries working with the engineering and operations staff as well as vendors of new equipment and materials. The primary responsibility will be in implementation and integration of key technologies (processes and materials) focused on the Contour process.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:  This individual will be focused on the process development and commercialization for novel and disruptive solid state memory devices.  The successful candidate must have the ability to identify and mitigate high risk areas of the fabrication process flow, identify root causes and then develop and implement solutions.  Primary responsibilities include identifying and implementing critical enabling technologies and processes necessary for the successful development and transfer to manufacturing of high volume low cost semiconductor products. The process development work will be performed at contract foundries located in San Jose, CA and other locations. The job will also require working closely with Contour engineers in Massachusetts as well as the engineers and operations staff at the contract foundries.  This is an R&D process development position with heavy emphasis on creating novel techniques to enable fabrication of very high density, low cost semiconductor products.

 

 REQUIREMENTS:BS/MS in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related physical or engineering science. 3+ years of demonstrated industry experience in photolithography.Hands-on experience with exposure tools, SEM, overlay and other analytical characterization tools.  3+ years experience in key module process development in semiconductor fabrication environment. Prefer candidates with hands-on experience using ASM scanner and Applied Materials’ CD SEMExperience with process development and high volume manufacturing transfer experience is desirable.Must have demonstrated experience in identifying and solving micro-fabrication process problems.   Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE), statistical process control (SPC) and statistical software a plus. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.Experience with modern 90nm to 45nm and 300mm commercial grade wafer process tools is a plus.Knowledge of process integration for MOS or CMOS FETs is a plus.Prior experience in mask tape-out is desired.
