Process Improvement Engineer

Philips Lumileds Lighting is currently seeking a Process Improvement Engineer for their San Jose, CA operations. The successful candidate will thrive on continuous process improvements and refinements, until the necessary stabilization and process windows are met for a confident transfer from pilot to volume production.  The candidate will lead and interact with a team of other Engineers and Technicians, in a fast paced highly interactive environment.

 

Duties include but not limited to:

 

· Engage and drive efforts on yield improvement projects

· Taking ownership of, and drive to completion, projects related to developing, refining, and sustaining of next generation LED technologies.

· Optimization using Six Sigma methodolgies

· Define/refine methods to increase process repeatability and control to achieve higher yield, lower costs, better performance, improved flexibility, and/or lower variation.

· Conduct optical and electrical testing of optoelectronic devices.

· Work directly with Manufacturing Operations, Process Engineering, and R&D Scientists to ramp new products and processes into production, as well as manage project/product priorities.

· New Product Introduction and ramp into high volumne production and overseas transfer.

 

Requirements:

 

· MS or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, or related industry.

· Expertise and/or knowledge in Six Sigma methods.

· Knowledge of optoelectronic device fabrication.

· 5+ years in a high volume manufacturing semiconductor environment.

· Experience in SPC, DOE, FMEA

· Must possess good oral and written communications skills.

· Knowledge of automotive level quality a plus.
