We endeavor to become a "Customer Value Creation Company" that provides safety, security, comfort and convenience in line with our visions of contributing to a ubiquitous networking society and coexisting with the global environment.Currently we are seeking a Product Engineer II within the Panasonic Computer Solutions Company (PCSC), based at our North American Headquarters in Secaucus, NJ.1.CUSTOMER SUPPORTa.Analyze, test, and provide solutions for customer applications and issues related to hardware and software used with Panasonic Personal Computer Solutions products. b.Analyze customer requirements to recommend most appropriate Panasonic solution. c.Serve as final escalation point for Service and Hotline in resolving customer problems when escalated to insure timely resolution. d.Assist in pre-and post-sales situations with on-site (potentially 30-50%) technical assistance as required. 2.TECHNICAL SUPPORTa.Provide training on new products to Sales, Service, Configuration Center, resellers, and end users as required. b.Provide technical assistance to support end user, hotline, field service, and third parties as needed. c.Manage problems escalated to ITPD / Factory to insure resolution. d.Assist ITPD / Factory in resolving technical issues. e.Test third party hardware and software for compatibility and potential approval as ?Toughbook Tested? f.Configure, ship, and track pre-production samples to Sales as required. 3.QUALITY ASSURANCEa.Perform compatibility test and inspection of engineering samples and mass production to assure products meet PCSC standards. b.Evaluate BIOS and driver updates prior to web site posting. c.Evaluate master operating system images and recovery images prior to release to Configuration Center, Service Center, and Hotline. d.Provide assistance to ITPD / Factory and third parties through thorough, fact-based analysis. 4.CONFIGURATION CENTER SUPPORTa.Provide Engineering support for Configuration Center ? including training, documentation, and assistance as needed. b.Validate configuration option assembly procedure and test prior to release to Configuration Center for production.MANAGEMENT:Provide fact-based analysis, which if not correct could result in significant loss of business. PROBLEM-SOLVING/KNOW HOW:Exercise professional technical judgement in evaluating new products, and computer hardware and software that may not be performing as desired. Recourse to supervision and precedents is occasionally availability. Familiarity with computer hardware, software, troubleshooting, root-cause-analysis, lab equipment, and fact based decisions required. BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 0 ? 5 years work experience.COMMUNICATIONS: Provide detailed technical information internally and externally and be able to explain same in non-technical terms.
