Product Manager -- Mobile Video

Job Description
Overall product and business lead for one of Qualcomm's largest multimedia division mobile video. Product responsibility will include Qtv (decoder), Qcamcorder (encoder) and Qvideophone (videotelephony).

Support critical projects and drive the adoption of Qualcomm's mobile video solutions globally. Anticipate and define detailed product requirements based on competitive, customer and market requirements. Maintain extensive knowledge of standards body specifications, worldwide carrier requirements and operator service deployments of video based services and codec technologies. Support plans to meet 3GPP, 3GPP2 carrier and OEM requirements. Coordinate product development execution with engineering teams to meet these requirements. Communicate Video product plans and road maps to QCT's Sales personnel, OEM customers and carrier partners worldwide.



Skills/Experience
- Extensive experience in managing product development in a growth environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing several large scale projects simultaneously.
- P&L responsibility and experience with pricing models preferred.
- Understanding of mobile video technologies including: codecs, industry standards and services.
- Can work with people from various groups simultaneously, managing diverse goals, priorities and personalities in driving a project forward to completion.
- Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; strong ability to influence others for results.
- Account/customer management experience.
- Business development experience including consumer software and content licensing and contract negotiations
- Strategic planning and vision, competitive analysis, positioning and messaging skills
- Must be able to multi task and prioritize tasks
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate with engineers as well as sales, marketing and other cross-functional disciplines.
- Strong leadership skills, with an ability to lead cross-functional projects without formal reporting relationships.
- Proven ability to develop product strategy, drive decision making across the organization including senior management and technical staff


Additional Skills
Minimum of four years experience in Product Management or Product-related field--preferably in the wireless communications industry. Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation) are required as well as the ability to work within a team environment and independently. Frequent travel is required (US and international). Must enjoy dealing in a customer-oriented environment and a fast paced environment.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's required MBA preferred.
