For more information, please visit www.flextronics.com Purpose: The Production Planning Manager is responsible for developing, directing and coordinating material planning activities that support the production plan for a given set of customer programs. Principle Accountabilities: The Production Planning Manager will: Coordinate the schedule of activities with customer on planning, scheduling, shipping and material acquisition during program start-ups. Produce revenue analysis and annual operating (AOP) plan and other forecast reports. Conduct special studies, investigations and analysis relating to the introduction of new products or processes to effect cost reduction and yield improvements. Develop and implement the company’s production control functions including Master Scheduling, Production Planning/Coordination, Shop Scheduling, and Dispatching. Develop, implement and approve items such as material requirements, planning systems, work in process tracking, material and labor variance controls and manufacturing performance reporting. Approve quantities, schedules and parts list provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt and issuance of production material requirements. Plan, review and manage production procedures and personnel. Maintain reports to reflect scheduling, methods, support performance and process procedures. Interface with customers to ensure delivery commitments are met and with subordinates, functional peer group managers and senior management. Develop material planning models to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions for customer programs. Utilize models for determining material planning parameters for components. Interface with purchasing to expedite problem parts and to reschedule material deliveries that will result in excess inventory. Notify Materials and Program Management of material situation that affect the attainment of the production plan Travel as necessary. Bachelor degree is a must, Masters preferred. Forecasting experience required Requires 8 years of progressive responsibility in production control and planning or related area, including supervision. Advanced experience using Manufacturing Requirement Planning (MRP) systems. Demonstrated advanced functional and technical skills and basic people and/or process management skills. Solid understanding of P&L Demonstrated advanced functional, technical and people skills Demonstrated process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. (APICS) and/or (CPM) certificate is preferred. Strong communication skills.
