Position:  Production Supervisor – SMT; will lead the cross-functional team to meet and exceed daily requirements based on commitments to our customers.  Candidates must be comfortable in a fast paced environment and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations.  Candidates need to have a “can do” attitude and willing to step outside the traditional role to help the team succeed.

Main responsibilities:

·  Identify staffing and equipment needs to achieve the team’s goals.  Coordinate production staffing and capacity to effectively meet build plans

·  Ensure that processes and procedures are clear and that training is adequate.  This includes the willingness to lead Continuous Improvement efforts and defect cause and corrective action efforts

· Mentor and develop manufacturing employees; help manufacturing operators develop their skills, product quality and productivity

· Train in all manufacturing operations within the area of responsibility

· Spend a minimum of 50% of time in the manufacturing areas working with the team

· Assist in development of appropriate metrics and be able to collect, maintain and analyze relevant data

· Play an active role in defining corrective action plans and accept the responsibility for completing them

· Be actively involved in capacity planning and material availability to ensure jobs run when required

· Prepare and present daily status report to management team

· Perform other related duties as assigned

· Ensure the productive utilization of labour & machines

· Improve work methods

· Follow & maintain production lines capacity

· Collect and update standard times

· Responsible for Problem Solving, Yield Monitoring and oversee proper controls of material released to production floor

· Insure that SMT production lines run smoothly limiting production downtime.

· Yields review by product

· Production problem solving

· Monitoring production control procedures

· Schedule production, manpower and required Preventive Maintenance

· Down Time reduction & control

· Scrap monitoring & reduction

· Provide daily production updates for production meetings

· Monitor and Insure 5-S standards for production areas

 

Requirements:Five years of previous SMT supervisory experience leading diverse teas of up to 25 employees, preferably in a contract manufacturing environment with Siemens equipment.Possess basic math skills for calculations of manufacturing indices such as equipment capacity, staffing, productivity and yields.Experience with basic computer packages, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and time attendance tracking systems.Ability to trouble-shoot SMT machine problems at a basic level would be a plus.Interpret work instructions, parts lists and assembly drawings.Must be available for overtime as required.
