Project Management Engineer

Tamarack Scientific Co., Inc. located in Corona, CA is an automated capital equipment supplier to the electronic packaging industry and to medical device manufacturers.  These first tier companies utilize our equipment for 24/7 operations to build their products.  Tamarack designs and manufactures a broad line of photolithography and photo ablation processing systems.  These machines are designed and built to customer specifications utilizing expertise developed over many years.

The Role:

This highly visible position is responsible for the organizing, scheduling, and tracking of major capital equipment projects from inception to delivery.  Responsibilities include developing all project documentation including goal setting, scheduling, risk assessment and mitigation, etc., coordinating the activities of engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and test to deliver complex capital equipment on time, within budget, and to the customer's specification.  This person must be able to work effectively in a matrix organization as well as have excellent client relations skills.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Work with Sales to develop the system quotation, including delivery, based on resource allocation Develop project schedule and track activity during the project Schedule required resources, identify project risk factors, and develop contingency plans Track resource requirements across multiple projects Communicate project status and technical issues to the customer Track and coordinate engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing activities related to projects Coordinate and report assembly and test activities Ensure that all applicable system documentation, including service/training manuals, are available and accurate as scheduled Coordinate customer acceptance testing at factory and customer sites Coordinate regulatory testing and receipt of certifications Coordinate crating, shipping, installation, and customer training activities

Interested candidates must have the following Education, Skills & Experience in order to be considered for the position:Bachelor's of Science in Engineering (ME, EE, OE, SW) PMI PMP certificate or equivalent project management certification/training 3+ years experience in managing engineering based projects exceeding $500K in value and averaging 6+ months in duration Minimum of 2 years experience in managing custom projects that vary by at least 30% to previous projects and that require soft estimates of labor resources Consistent and proven use of a project management methodology  Proficient use of MS Project or equivalent Client management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must
