Public Relations Specialist - Senior

Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supporting the NAM Media Relations Manager to promote the PR communications competence in the local market by leveraging global processes and policies for global consistency on positioning, policies and KPIs as well as organizing proactive processes for managing news & information, issues and public relations. Success will be measured by the increase in efficiency and effectiveness of the PR communication services while also maintaining (measure and compare) and protecting the Company’s brand awareness and preference.

Key relationships are the local Field Marketing teams, the Zone regional marketing team, the local Field Sales team and the CMO PR team.

Essential Functions:

55 % Plan, publish and implement the execution of a strategic PR plan based on product introduction, audience appropriate range of communication tactics like speaking opportunities, shows, events, aligning the strategic plan with global, regional and local company priorities. 5 % Measure PR activity level and impact through standardized KPIs, plan and manage PR communications budget, adopt and share best practices and optimize output. 35 % Serve as project manager responsible for PR communications of product launches by coordinating and managing delivery of key department materials, tools and launch support plus managing multiple components of global industry campaigns, including writing and distributing global news releases and media pitches, and coordinating implementation of country campaigns through country PR professionals.

5 % Primary point of contact for local market PR activities, including media training of key executive management.


•Press relations: Support Zone Marketing strategies. Proactively identify, build and develop top tier network of specialist, IT & business media organizations and key journalists. Leverage current relationships with media network generating exposure and positive coverage for the company & its product portfolio. Manage media inquiries and media database.


•PR Agency relations (when applicable): Establishing effective working conditions with PR agencies to develop & maximise communications and opportunities. Develop and implement annual review for improving agency-client relationship and productivity.


•Press coverage: Develop corporate and product PR strategies with the objective of raising visibility for the Company brand with a focus on the Company's product portfolio and communicating success to the customer community through reprints, web posting, joint PR, etc.


•Communication: Provide local market insights into the preparation of key media messages and global press releases, corporate news stories and presentations and coordinate adaptation and implementation with local Marcom teams for use in their respective markets. Draft and approve local and regional communications. Ensure local adaptations receive all required approvals.


•Measurement: Track, analyze and communicate local and regional media coverage and propose next steps after each campaign.


•Media training: Support regional and local industry spokespeople by providing interview preparation, coordinating media training as required, overseeing interviews, and providing feedback.


•Company events: Work with the local Field Marketing team to create, develop and support company events as required.


•Press tours: Work closely with local and regional teams to organize and implement press tours and conferences within Zone and including other zones as required.


•Creativity: Deliver great ideas, brilliant innovations, seamless integration and outstanding impact on all communications.

Education:

BA in Communications or equivalent

Experience:

7-9 years of prior experience in agency and/or corporate function specializing in business-to-business public relations within the IT industry, in particular companies with similar markets as Company (Datacenter, Security, Disaster recovery, etc.

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to produce news releases, feature stories, marketing communications plans and standard business documents. Ability to develop public relations campaigns and achieve results in a complex and dynamic environment. English language fluency Strong interpersonal and social skills resulting A self-starter who pro-actively works both independently as well within cross functional teams and in a complex, global team environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, and confidential environment. Must be proficient in excel, word and powerpoint Fluency in a second language highly desirable, but not necessary

Travel:

Limited to once per month within local region 1-2x per year international travel for training
