Candidate will be a key hands-on contributor in the product development life-cycle. Candidate will work closely with program management and engineering to facilitate round-trip quality feedback including bug investigation, bug resolution and continuous improvements to quality assurance testing processes and procedures. Evaluate and recommend external testing companies to augment in-house testing capability.QA Test Engineer must have the ability to work as an individual contributor, team member in a position to test and analyze products on tight schedules throughout the development cycle. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Specific Responsibilities:Work with Quality Assurance Test Manager in developing and implementing critical QA and verification test plans, procedures, methodologies and matrices.Perform competitive analysis on third party productsInvestigate technologies as assignedIndividual contributor or part of test team for major projects including performing functionality and performance testing. Work closely with design teams to understand new project architectures and system components and subsequently develop test plans and procedures to extract key data to validate quality of performance in accordance with specificationsStrive for efficiency and efficacy in test execution, data gathering, reporting and bug trackingAssist in the procurement of test equipment and commercial test software where applicable to support test requirements. Work with all functional groups to ensure that lessons learned items are captured and incorporated into new product designs. Facilitate the implementation of appropriate changes to product, process, system and procedures through the ECO process to prevent the recurrence of reported nonconformities. Maintain automation test harnesses. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.Education and Experience Requirements:B.S. Degree in technical field (e.g. EE, ME, Computer Science, etc.). Able to quickly grasp technical product quality issues, failure analysis reports, test reports, and technical engineering / design solutions. Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a quality assurance test or test engineering rolesStrong background testing hardware, firmware, software, network, KVM and AV productsHighly organized and detail-orientedExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with ERP system concepts, Oracle preferredFamiliarity with programming in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, TCL/TK, Python, PerlKnowledge of configuring clients and servers in operating systems including: Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT, XP, - Novell OSs, - Linux, FreeBSDAbility to travel domestically and internationallyDesired Certifications include: CISSP, CCDA, MCSE or CCNAKnowledge of the following technologies is a plus:WHQLLAN design SNMP and Manageability SoftwareCisco Routers HTMLUSB ATM, Dial InternetPPP NICs and SwitchesFiber optic and CAT 5 cabling Security: VPNs, IPsec, PPTPProtocols: TCP/IP, PPPoE, IPX, NetBEUIWireless: 802.11, WIFIRouters, firewalls and intrusion detectionDiagnostic tools such as Network SniffersIP trouble-shooting skillsAbility to review data transmission traces to identify application deficienciesBelkin is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.See Job DescriptionAdditional Information: Travel Percentage: 10%
