QRA RMA Failure Analysis Engineer

Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As a QRA RMA Failure Analysis Engineer at Aptina in San Jose, California, you will be responsible for characterizing failures, determining the suspect circuit level corruption, identifying where production coverage exists for the electrical signature, and providing some level of risk assessment based on yield analysis efforts for the production line. In this role, you will perform electrical failure analysis on returned devices or modules. This analysis may include system-level testing and verification, module level and die level ATE and/or bench testing. Based on the results of your analysis and when it is applicable, you will work closely with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Application Engineering and all FA groups supporting the production line and manufacturing groups at Aptina to identify corrective action or process improvements that are applicable to the analyzed components. You will be responsible for tracking all steps in the analysis process and may also serve as the primary Aptina contact for certain customers regarding quality issues. You will be expected to have a good understanding of CMOS semiconductor device physics and possess general knowledge of CMOS imaging circuit design. Your work will involve looking at design schematics and layouts to help identify failing circuitry or process layers. You must be able to effectively extract, analyze and report data as necessary and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Discipline is required to manage time and priorities effectively. You must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and with little supervision.Successful candidates for this position will have:  Familiarity using DFII / Cadence and other circuit design tools. Sound knowledge of CMOS circuit analysis and semiconductor device behavior. Familiarity with UNIX, JMP, VB/VBA, Python. Experience in using various electrical debugging/test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signals generators etc. An understanding of Capability and Application of Advanced Physical Failure Analysis tools including SEM, IREM, Auger, EDX, FIB, Etc. Experience with functional and/or powered probing of mixed signal circuits. The ability to be detail-oriented and self-motivated. The ability to work well interfacing across the organization on issues. The ability to write clear and complete FA reports detailing steps taken and findings of failure analysis process. The ability to drive to root cause and corrective action on customer returns. Education:Minimum of an MS in Electrical Engineering  or BS with 5 years of relevant experience. Join Us!
