QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER-CONSUMER ELECTRONICS

SPHERION, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR CLIENT, HAS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER IN THE AUDIO/VISUAL CONSUMER ELECTRONICS FIELD! THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE POSITION IN THE SOUTH METRO ATLANTA AREA SUMMARY:  Responsible for managing the quality environment within the distribution and return center and generating quantifiable data and reports for all AQL (acceptable quality level) inspections of new product and customer returns.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Establish AQL inspection procedures for new shipments of finished goods.   Manage and oversee Repair operation.  Create measurable parameters for restricted inventory undergoing repair, measure quality of work and timing of throughput.  Analyze and report data from all AQL inspections and customer returns.   Establish and review test procedures for new and existing products to be utilized on AQL inspection lines and customer return lines.  Secure return material authorizations from suppliers for all in-warranty products that are defective.  Facilitate the return of such products.  Establish processes and procedures to assist Return Center in creating and maintaining a quality environment. Support Marketing and QA / Reliability quality requests.  Manage any rework projects deemed necessary for quality assurance.  Establish and maintain productive working relationships with employees and other external contacts.  Other projects which may be assigned.CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL EMPLOYEES:  To treat our customers (internal or external) with utmost respect, ensuring they become repeat customers.  To resolve problems quickly and remember that each “customer” has different needs.  To develop relationships with other departments based on honest communication, mutual respect and teamwork. WORK PERFORMED (approximate breakdown by percentage): 20%-Incoming AQL inspections, test procedures, manufactures returns 45%-Manage and oversee return and repair operation.  Create measurable parameters for restricted inventory undergoing repair, measure quality of work and timing of throughput. 15%-Customer returns 10%-Data / reports 10%-Special / rework projects SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for supervising Data Analyst, Test Engineers, Inspectors, Technicians and Direct and Temporary Labor.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Familiarity with QMS/TQM philosophy and its measurement tools for assessing performance.  Coordinate inspection and returns process with distribution Managers and Suppliers.   Generate Schedule and timeline for product inspection and evaluation and manage implementation.  Interact with Design, Planning, Production, Distribution and Field Operation personnel to coordinate product release and corrective action plans.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: a) Equivalent education level required:  BSEE / BA/ MBA. b) Experience required:  5-7 years in Consumer Electronics quality and distribution systems;  3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control systems, distribution operations and evaluation of audio/video reproduction systems. c) Specific technical knowledge required:  Exposure to design of audio & video    reproduction system (amplifier, audio video receivers, DVD, CD and  speaker drivers) and solid knowledge of electronics and acoustical parameter measurements using commercially available test equipment.
