First Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00am – 3:30pm
General Summary
The Quality Coordinator is a professional who understands the principles of product and service, quality evaluation and control. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, the ability to use statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, an understanding of human factors and motivation, and the knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, training, interpersonal relationships and corrective / preventive action dynamics.Understanding of the quality system audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up.Plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include inspection processes, material review, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems for incoming purchased product, in-house manufactured product and customer returned products.Acquire and analyze SPC data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.Effectively communicate to both employees and management concerning data and/or process performance results.Must be very meticulous in documentation accuracy and records. Responsible for completing area inspection and defect logs and utilizing that data for statistical process controls. Must be able to define statistical techniques and know which data to collect for a specific technique, know which tools are appropriate for various tasks, know how to assess finished product for accuracy and determine whether product is within drawing tolerance and specifications.Examine product for conformance to specifications and quality standards. Must know basic inspection and testing concepts; how to read and interpret blueprints, how and when to apply various inspection techniques, and know which techniques are appropriate for specific processes.Must be able to communicate well with all workers and supervisors in inspection area as well as management, customers and vendors.Assist with special customer projects concerning failure analysis and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesComputer proficiency; Excel, Visio, MS Word, OutlookStrong organizational skillsComplete working knowledge of an ISO9000 quality management systemAbility to manufacture products from customer drawing and specifications without assistanceComponent IDBasic math skills QS 9000 / TS 13949 experience a plus.
Minimum Requirements2 year Technical degree or equivalentThree (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environmentMust have worked in a electronics manufacturing environment with knowledge of IPC standards
