Quality Supervisor

Position Description:

This position reports to the Process Excellence Manager and is responsible for supervising a team of Quality Technicians, problem solving, facilitating best practices and maintaining maximum productivity and product quality.  This position will be assigned as the Night Shift supervisor.

 

Duties will include:

· Be an integral part of our QA team.  Openly communicate with technicians, engineers, and managers within the Quality department to resolve problems.

· Supervises Quality (Process Excellence) Technicians involved in FE QA/QC.

· Facilitates NCR/CAR process associated with FE QA/QC.

· Ensure all acceptance testing is completed prior to material release.

· Generate Material Disposition Form. 

· Communicate to Quality & Operations Management any non-standard observations/events without delay.

· Perform off-line QA/QC of photovoltaic cells as required.

· Follow standard quality procedures and work instructions when performing individual job responsibilities.

· Write data sheets, summary reports and maintain quality records.

· Assist in test procedure documentation generation and maintenance.

· Assist in departmental projects, involving administration, planning, analysis, etc., as required.

· Maximize productivity, product quality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining minimal costs.

 

Required Qualifications:

· Two year technical Degree. Bachelors preferred (majors in Quality, Electronics or Engineering strongly desired)

· Five years of Quality Control experience in manufacturing environment (experience in electrical or electronics manufacturing, or a chemical process preferred)

· Three years Supervisory experience.

· Ability to QC material based on multiple criteria.

· Able to troubleshoot quality through different types visual inspections and electrical / mechanical testing (DMM, Calipers, micrometers, color meters, surface testers, preferred).

· Able to lift up to 70 lbs.

· Must wear latex gloves to handle product, semiconductor / solar cell.

· Demonstrated problem solving ability

· Communicates cross-functionally at multiple levels with candor and respect
