Agilent Technologies R&D Device & Reliability Engineer

Agilent Technologies, the world's premier test and measurement equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Device & Reliability Engineer for R&D and manufacturing in the High Frequency Technology Center in Santa Rosa, California.

Engineers at the High Frequency Technology Center develop and sustain custom, cutting edge, micro and nano-fabrication technologies for high performance microwave and millimeter-wave applications. The technologies include InP and GaAs-based HBT, HEMT, MEMS and other electronic components which determine the key competitive specifications enabling industry-leading RF, microwave and high bit rate instruments.

The Device & Reliability Engineer works closely with material, circuit design and other process and device engineers to develop new semiconductor devices and components. The Device & Reliability Engineer will define device performance targets, design and characterize new devices and components, and develop new fabrication processes and vehicle circuits. Objectives will encompass performance and manufacturing goals with a focus on device and circuit reliability.

In addition, the Device & Reliability Engineer will be part of a team responsible for manufacturing yields, performance, and reliability of all IC platforms at the High Frequency Technology Center.

About you 

Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Strong semiconductor device physics skills are required; specific experience with III-V semiconductors is highly desired.
Candidates should have experience with measurement/modeling of device/circuit failure modes and experience with thermal modeling.
A successful candidate will have outstanding ability in the area of statistical analysis.
Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills for successful inter-group and intra-group interactions.

This position will be filled at the Career or Expert/Senior engineer level, depending on candidate qualifications.

US Citizenship/Permanent Resident status is recommended, but applications from highly qualified candidates requiring work sponsorship will also be considered.
