R&D Engineer - IC Design

Cambridge Scientific is seeking an R&D Engineer, IC Design to work on-site at our client, a leading test and measurement company, located in Santa Clara, CA! 

Contract hire opportunity: 10-12 months.

Project Overview:

Candidate will be designing a new high performance analog-to-digital converter. The successful candidate will have a broad background in designing analog integrated circuits; with experience in designing GHz range circuits a high want.

Responsibilities:
-Detailed transistor level analog circuit design in submicron CMOS or fast bipolar technologies, or both.
-Thorough simulation of circuit performance using Cadence Analog Artist and Spectre design tools; modification of design to meet demanding specs under worst case modeling conditions.
-Physical layout of circuit using Cadence tools, or skilled supervision of layout designer.
-Simulations of circuits with extracted layout parasitics, and corrections to design as needed.
-Verification of circuit performance in conjunction with blocks designed by others.Requirements:-Masters or PhD Degree in EE, or equivalent experience in analog or Mixed-Signal IC design.
-Minimum of 4 years experience in analog or Mixed Signal IC design; typically 5 to 8 years experience.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
-Working knowledge of device physics for CMOS and bipolar devices.
-Detailed knowledge and experience designing CMOS or bipolar analog integrated circuits, preferably both. Good circuit intuition and ability to innovate at the circuit level.
-Extensive experience with circuit simulation and IC layout (or supervision of layout) using Cadence Design tools.
-Knowledge of high frequency phenomena and the effect of those phenomena on the performance of both integrated transistors and IC interconnects.
-Experience with designing GHz range analog IC's is a high want.
-Experience with design of on-chip transmission lines and other RF components is a high want.
