RF System Engineer

 

We are seeking an experienced RF System Engineer in our Allentown, PA office.  This individual will work in Satellite Radio Systems team – researching and developing advanced radio architectures for satellite radio applications. Activities of the team include systems analysis (RF and baseband), algorithm development, IC specification, behavioral simulation, design verification, and system validation.  Selected candidate will work closely with other system engineers as well as with marketing, IC design, software development, hardware development and applications engineering teams.

 

Responsibilities: Collaboration with Infineon’s satellite radio marketing team to determine receiver system (RF and baseband) requirements.Creation of RF system architectures with a detailed understanding of the overall partition of analog/digital while optimizing performance/cost trade-offs.Doing analysis and behavioral simulation of the overall system including RF and baseband.Design verification and system validation.Collaboration with the test team to evaluate and trouble-shooting any system performance issues.



Desired Skills and Experience:Experienced candidates, as well as recent grads are welcome to apply.MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, Ph.D. preferred. Experience with simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, CoCentric, etc.Wireless IC specification experience.Knowledge of wireless standards such as 802.11, WCDMA, DVB-H, etc.Signal processing expertise (filters, polar modulation, sigma-delta, etc.)Proven experimental skills and lab/bench expertise. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience in the following helpful:High volume/consumer productsADSProgrammable DSPsIC design FPGA prototyping Automated lab testingDigital logicMust be highly organized, methodical, and adept at keeping design notes and test results in a clear, concise format.
