Research Engineer IV/V

Requirements
Bose Corporation is seeking a talented individual to be a part of our research engineering team, where you'll provide both leadership and high level individual technical contributions to a variety of research/advanced development projects centered around linear magnetic actuators and acoustics. In this role, you will have an opportunity to grow both your technical and managerial skills by working on highly visible key programs.

The primary role is to lead a program seeking to provide a leap in acoustic performance through novel electromagnetic and acoustic concepts. This leadership would include direct creative and analytical inputs. The other key role is to provide expertise as an individual contributor in the areas of thermal (required), structural (desired) and various other research programs where you'll collaboratively with others to identify solutions to meet desired goals.

Skills
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Required:
Candidate must be able to demonstrate successful leadership of complex, multidisciplinary projects. Have strong analytical and hands-on skills in the areas of lumped parameter modeling of multidisciplinary systems (e.g., thermal, dynamic, acoustic) using tools like Maxwell and MATLAB. Demonstrated skills in modeling and measurements. Strong ability to communicate, orally and written, and work in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of structural, thermal, and magnetic FEA. Basic business skills, including market research/identification, and use of planning tools such as MS Project.

Education
MS in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years related experience of which 4 years should be working on multidisciplinary projects and minimum of 3 years experience with electromagnetic actuators (preferably acoustic transducers.)
