Research Sales Representative, North America

Primary Function:

 

Direct sales of Research products, including systems and components, and develop and maintain key accounts in assigned territory. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Drive sales to achieve established sales goals and quotasServe as the primary customer contact for technical and business issues for the assigned territoryDevelop and maintain key relationships in the Research marketAnalyze territory and markets to identify opportunities then develop plans and strategies to win ordersIdentify economic and industrial trends and develop programs to take advantage of these new opportunitiesProvide feedback from the marketplace on products, pricing, services, competitors, and other market factors to assist in developing and implementing marketing plans Utilizing knowledge of engineering specifications, product capabilities, and customer requirements, generate and manage customer quotationsHelp maintain the sales databaseGenerate and maintain Sales Activity Reports for accounts and territory and provide this information to management Execute all sales promotions and programs developed with marketing to gain new customers and retain existing customersCoordinate demonstrations and application reviews with Technical Sales Support to ensure proper sales strategies are implemented in the Research marketSupport and attend trade shows Attend key account, local trade associations, and sales meetingsAssist with system installations when required Follow-up on customer inquiries and leads for the Research Market

Job Requirements:

 Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology or EngineeringPossess five to seven years’ previous sales experience in complex technical sales Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry a plusKnowledge of the Materials Science, Atmospheric and Environmental Chemistry, and Vacuum Science a plusProficient with Microsoft PC based softwareWell organized, self-directed team playerAbility to function in a self-motivated mannerExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAble to present a positive and professional image A minimum of 50% + travel per year
