SAP Enterprise Analyst

Enterprise Analyst   Newport Corporation is a leading global supplier of advanced-technology products and systems to customers in the scientific research, microelectronics manufacturing, aerospace and defense/security, life and health sciences and precision industrial manufacturing markets.  Newport’s innovative solutions leverage its expertise in high-power semiconductor, solid-state and ultrafast lasers, photonics instrumentation, sub-micron positioning systems, vibration isolation, optical subsystems and precision automation to enhance the capabilities and productivity of its customers’ manufacturing, engineering and research applications.  Newport is part of the Standard & Poor’s SmallCap 600 Index and the Russell Microcap Index.   Summary: Responsible for the overall integrity of the Newport SAP environments, including production, development, quality assurance/test, and disaster recovery.  Primary functions include maintenance of the SAP environment, system management, application security, oversight of all infrastructure related SAP projects, patch management, systems performance and capacity planning.   Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in the configuration and implementation of the SAP system; serve as a technical architect, database administrator, and basis administrator Will advise on hardware, operating systems and database environments, and be responsible for interfaces, conversion programs, release changes, and provide modifications to the SAP system Coach and train other Information System personnel as required in support of managing the application and environment Perform sofware upgrades and installations, support testing, and ensure consistency of the application Perform trouble shooting or secrutiy authorization issues

Requirements: Requires a degree in Computer Science and 3-5 years of SAP Basis Administration Linux Systems Administration (RedHat enterprise linux preferred) Oracle 9.x/10.x administration Storage Area Network / NAS experience, as it relates to SAP Project Management experience SAP application security Veritas NetBackup SAP Web Application Server administration / j2ee administration Solution manager experience Experience with SAP Connect / SAP connectors to third party tools Data Archiving within SAP Excellent cummunication and customer service skills HR security and CRM helpful  Newport offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, a leading-edge work environment and opportunity for professional growth.
