SENIOR ELECTRONICS QUALITY ENGINEER - AEROSPACE

Our client, a highly successful global aerospace components manufacturer, is seeking an experienced aerospace Quality Engineer III, salary to 95k. This is a critical, high visibility position located in the greater Seattle, WA area.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineer III - Quality routinely performs the most complex and varied work in the occupational field to develop and recommend the quality requirements needed during design and production phases and processes to assure that product satisfies application intended and that contractual commitments with respect to design and manufacture have been met.

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This Engineer is responsible to accomplish the job objective for matters involving new, varied and the most complex type of planning or problem resolution and typically involving state-of-the-art products and processes.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES

To meet the objectives of this job, individuals may be expected to perform any and all of the following typical duties but at a varying level of responsibility and authority as defined in the Scope section of each job:

Participate in program and design reviews to contribute to assuring that product quality objectives are met.

 

Analyze quality requirements of request for proposals; prepare quality assurance sections of technical, cost and management proposals.

 

Develop, recommend and approve inspection plans and criteria at beginning and during progress of programs, as authorized and within parameters of company and customer standards.

 

Act as quality interface for selected customers, keeping track of customer specific quality requirements and assuring conformance.

 

Maintain metrics on quality system performance utilizing data mining of support systems

Perform internal system audits to AS9100

 

Recommend inspection instrumentation, tooling and jigs as appropriate to quality requirements.

 

Analyze failures, determine cause, determine responsibility, initiate corrective action.

 

Review company test procedures (functional, acceptance/ qualification) for completeness with regard to technical content, test equipment and test data; provide assistance to inspection test stations.

 

Provide liaison with customer quality representatives relating to surveys, source inspections, documentations.

 

Resolve quality problems with company suppliers.

 EDUCATION REQUIRED

B.S. or B.A. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

7 years aerospace Quality Engineering experience.

Requires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibility as illustrated by example in the above job description.

Previous related experience sufficient to demonstrate satisfactory competency and knowledge of theory and practice of modern quality control principles concepts, and methods as applied to a high technology electronics design and manufacturing operation.

Ability to effectively establish rapport, techniques, and strategy to be used in personal contact with the various operational and staff groups and all levels of employees to ensure effective industrial working relationships.

Extensive conceptual and analytical ability in order to conceive quality requirements in designs, production operations and processes.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to competently apply analytical statistics and other math functions in order to accomplish tasks such as recommend design changes, sampling plans, make trend analyses.
Extensive ability to effectively express self orally and in writing to prepare comprehensive analyses, procedures, and reports.

Application knowledge of the characteristics of metals, chemical processes, electricity and other elements as applied in company products and operations.
