SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER (#096-M)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Fulcrum is looking for an experienced and sharp Software QA Manager to oversee and drive the execution of the testing of our ControlPoint Network Software Suite.  This hands-on position includes the definition of test plans, staff management of multisite QA teams and the development and inspection of automated test cases written in Perl.  This position will require an in depth understanding of networking as well as the ability to manage and direct a talented QA team that is charged with testing and debugging a complex and distributed networking system.




POSITION DESCRIPTION


The Software QA Manager in this position will be charged with the verification and system integration of our ControlPoint Network Software Suite.  This suite of network protocols and switch management modules runs the L2 and L3 control planes of our high-speed switches and routers, as well as providing management interfaces such as CLI, Web UI and SNMP to manage these systems inside a complex network.  This type of environment requires that the software within it must be robust, secure, and interoperable with other equipment in the system.  This enabling technology allows Fulcrum’s customers to bring high speed, high density and lower cost 10 Gigabit Ethernet to networks around the world.

This position will work closely with software developers and product management to enhance and assure software quality, with involvement throughout the development process. The person will be responsible for designing and implementing QA processes, detailed automated test plans, tracking software defects, verifying software fixes, assessing risk and developing product QA schedules. The successful candidate will also exhibit a high level of self-motivation and independence while working in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will be evaluated based on the following criteria:A Bachelor of Science degree in CS, CENG, EE or equivalent degree5-10 years of networking software QA experience2 years of software QA management experienceExperience designing and implementing test automationDirect experience with Ethernet and TCP/IPExperience writing test plans and executing test casesProven record of building, maintaining and leading QA teamsExperience managing multisite QA teams and interacting with multisite software development.Experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Tcl is requiredLinux programming experience, embedded Linux a plusMust be a self-motivated and inquisitive person who is able to ramp up quickly to new ideas in either software or system hardwareMust have strong analytical and system debug skillsAbility to clearly document the QA process, test methodology, and the status of ongoing projects
