FIELD APPLICATIONS ENGINEER -AUTOMOTIVE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN Scope The regional Field Application Engineer is responsible for offering competent technical support, in-depth understanding of applications, products and technical problems. He/she will work directly together with our customer design engineers to design-in Fairchild’s products and solve problems consistent with the overall sales policy and strategy. Specific job duties include, but are not specifically limited to: 1) Design-in activity at customer design departments to support Fairchild’s Automotive Segment with particular focus on power electronics to propose solutions for ie. motor management; body control; lighting and car entertainment applications. 2) Team up with sales & technical marketing force to drive mid and long term sales growth and design-ins and maximize business opportunities. 3) Compile technical articles for publication in Trade journals as well as application notes. 4) Able to understand power electronics design principles and the associated customer base. 5) Understanding of Automotive application requirements including solutions for Hybrid motor management, electronic modules and SMART switch applications. Requirements Minimum of 7-10 years in an applicable development environment / Knowledge of semiconductor power products and designs desirable;Technical understanding of power products in targeted Automotive application; Detailed understanding of technical need for new Automotive Systems; Close relationship with Automotive Suppliers; In depth understanding of and relationship with Automotive End Customers; Excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills; We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the ability to interact and relate to customers both internal and external.   Education BSEE or equivalent; MSEE preferred. THIS POSITION IS NOT OPEN TO THIRD PARTY VENDORS  TO APPLY ONLINE, CLICK HERE:  http://www.fairchildsemi-careers.com/fairchild/jobboard/JobDetails.aspx?__ID=*D01912BC6D5FECBD  logET();PauseFooter(false);
