SSI_Field Application Engineer

Position Summary



Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is a world leader in semiconductor and electronics components. We are looking for a Field Application Engineer for our Technical Marketing group to act as the technical liaison in supporting Regional Accounts OEM customers in the East Coast territories. This position reports directly to the Manager of Technical Marketing.


Common Essential Duties & Resp.



- Resolve pre and post-sale engineering/technical problems in a timely manner
- Act as the direct technical interface to customers
- Know and understand Samsung’s various memory solutions and strategy as well as end applications/markets to provide memory design-in and technical support to Regional Accounts OEM customers in the East Coast territories
- Build strategic engineering relationships with customers and manage all projects/designs, and technical issues
- Communicate customer applications, needs, and trends to the factory
- Provide customer with regular memory updates and customer follow-ups for product roadmaps, projects and technical issues
- Pre and Post-Sales activities linked with technical issues: product roadmap update, design-in/win status update, sample requests and ect.
- 25%~30% travel required


Background/Experience



- BS degree required with a degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 3-5 years experience in the Semiconductor industry, with experience as a Field Application Engineer/Technical Customer Support
- Technical knowledge and understanding of DRAM and/or Flash, and SRAM and various systems/applications (i.e. cell phone, set up box, multimedia player ect.)
- OEM and/or competitor experience in a technical position preferred

• Must be able to process complex information, deliver technical information to the customer or factory and solve problems individually or as part of a team (in collaboration with the factory or co-workers) and effectively extract, analyze and report data as necessary
• Excellent MS office skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
