Sales Analyst/Volume Planner

Summary:

With limited direction the Sales Analyst is responsible for providing and reporting detailed analysis such as account performance, market summaries and forecasting to support management decision making.  In this role he or she is responsible for maintaining accurate data, creating reporting tools, and reviewing areas of opportunity and assessing risks for current products.



 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Develop forecasting analytical tools to drive forecast accuracy improvements.

·  Prepare monthly and annual sales forecasts.

·  Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data.

·  Analyze forecast results by generating appropriate performance metrics and investigating causes for variances.

·  Analyze sales and inventory patterns and make recommendations for change if necessary.

·  Collect and analyze data to evaluate current sales goals and trends.

·  Provide data as to the company’s position in the marketplace.

·  Research and evaluate current economic and environmental conditions that may affect company's ability to sell it's products/services to the industry.

·  Assist in the development of sales quotas and forecasts for the sales team.

·  Assist in the measurement of advertising and sales programs.

·  Recommends changes to current sales techniques, procedures and promotional efforts.

·  Analyze current cost vs. revenue by sales channels.

·  Assist with keeping the sales team apprised of competitive changes in the fields of pricing, sales techniques, or service offerings.

·  Know the company’s quality policy and understand your role in carrying it out.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong financial and/or process analysis and improvements experience preferred.Adept proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products.



Education & Experience:5-7+ years relevant work experience.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
