Sales Engineer - Entry Level - Account Mgmt / Business Development

Our primary served markets are manufacturers of capital equipment for semiconductor devices, and for other thin film applications including flat panel displays, solar cells, data storage media, and other advanced coatings.
SUMMARY:
This position will have the responsibility for both farming and hunting new sales in the mid west, with a 50% split between the two functions. This role will also be focused on supporting existing accounts and establishing new business through cold calling, while establishing and maintaining long-term business relationships.
Growth of new business will be the top measure of success. Executing the MKS sales process is a requirement with increasing the MKS customer base, sales revenue and profitability the key focus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Support
· Provides sales support under the direction of the Regional manager, focused on design wins at key accounts and sales growth in the territory, including but not limited to, quote generation, lead follow up, new lead generation, and overall selling to the targets in the defined territory.
· Complete sales calls within the area and targets determined by your Regional Sales Manager. Expected time equal to about 100%.
Sales Performance
· Meets or exceeds the sales plan for all product groups in defined territory
· Provides timely and accurate quarterly forecasts
· Completes sales quotations, and opportunity tracking within the sales cycle
· Completes daily Multi Level sales calls for the defined customer base
· Develops 5 new accounts for each product group. 30% to 50% of face time to be with new prospects
Sales Metrics & Reporting
· Provides sales call reports in contact manager
· Sets objectives (long and short term); maintain good records
· Provide pre-call plans and drive reviews as necessary for complex and group high priority meetings
General Expectations
· Adheres to MKS travel & expense policy
· Acquires product and application knowledge, and participates in new product launch webcasts
· Promotes maximum effectiveness and opportunity capture for MKS by developing
o Reporting customer and general market information
o Gaining and reporting competitive intelligence
o Providing ideas for alternate ways to serve customers
o Reports on new product needs to the appropriate product group
· Utilizes all sales efficiency tools
· Follows the MKS Sales Policy Manual guidelines
· Adheres to all MKS policies and best practices
REQUIREMENTS:
· BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
· Previous work experience in design, manufacturing, or applications of industrial automation equipment highly desirable
· Strong aptitude for technical sales/account management focused on new sales generation
· Requires a high degree of independent, logical and creative thinking toward successful new bundled sales
· Excellent people skills, strong drive to succeed, and a team player
· Established basic computer skills, word processing, spreadsheet, email, etc.
· Behavioral traits exemplary with the MKS sales culture
· Travel up to 70%
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, organization skills and follow-through
