Sales Engineer - New York/New Jersey Area - Video Transport

The headquarters is in Oxnard, California and the parent company, Network Electronics ASA is in Norway.

 

This person will work out of a home-based office in the New York/New Jersery area near a major airport, to provide technical support to customers and the sales team.

Essential Functions: Work as a team with the Regional Sales Managers to provide technical knowledge, advice, and consultation via on-site visits, email, and telephone. Conduct on-site product demonstrations and training to customers, including on-site product commissioning.  Conduct on-site technical investigations and repairs. Provide after-sale advice, consultation, and diagnostic services to customers in real-time and non-real time.  Take ownership of customers' technical issues and see them through to completion. Coordinate with sales and manufacturing to see that all customer repairs are completed according to standards to maintain customer satisfaction. Provide feedback to salespeople regarding interaction with customers in their specific territories.  Complete all required reports on time. Attend trade shows and sales meetings as requested. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities: reading professional publications: "maintaining personal networks": participating in professional organizations. Represent the company in a professional manner. Frequently travel (up to 50%). Other duties as assigned.



 

Requirements: Associates Degree in a technical field or a High School Diploma plus 10 years of technical experience. Experience conducting technical training for customers. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a sales engineer in a technical environment. Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Strong understanding of the business and technical challenges of video telecommunications. Good basic quantitative skills. Ability to organize complex responsibilities and follow through with them Ability to conduct product demonstrations and trainings. Proficiency with MS Office. Ability to provide technical support to customers and build on customer relationships. Sound knowledge of Network Electronics/VPG's solutions in video space. Ability to work as a member of a team but also work independently. Current driver's license and good driving record. Ability to travel as required. Experience with video products in telco and broadcast applications.
