Job Responsibilities: This position will report to the Electrical Devices Commodity Manager for North America (Canada, Mexico, and the USA). This position is accountable for assisting in the development of strategies, policies, procedures and objectives for the operation of the supplier management program for materials and services in the Electrical Devices commodity. Measures and monitors purchasing improvement programs. Supports the negotiation with proper sources of supply, based on Commodity Strategy, for most cost effective purchases consistent with quality and customer service standards. Arranges for and evaluates competitive quotations, dependability and resourcefulness of suppliers in meeting requirements. Supports project/development by selecting and negotiating with the best approved suppliers (vendors) of particular commodities and assuring proper order quantity and delivery times of commodities from suppliers. Visits supplier facilities and investigates cost reduction opportunities and supplier's ability to meet quantity, delivery, quality, and technical requirements. Employs cost reduction techniques with emphasis on negotiation and value analysis. Supports to conduct legal and ethical business relationships with suppliers Negotiates prompt corrective action to address nonconforming materials. Negotiates recovery of costs incurred. Assist in the development of long-term material acquisition plans, including: supplier development, contracting strategies, inventory management, cost management, quality improvement, procurement systems, measurements, and market access programs. Represents purchasing to customers (internal and external), marketing and field sales through presentation and training. Bachelor's Degree and 3-4 years of experience in the electrical market.
