Senior Design Engineer

Atmel is currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for it's Colorado Springs, CO site.
Responsible for contributing to the development of Atmel products by performing various aspects of circuit design, layout, simulation, verification and characterization. Ability to conduct research, design experiments and evaluate the results. Using methodologies in support of various aspects of design including layout, simulation and documentation of elements for use in integrated circuits. Implementing ASIC design integration including IP's, memory and logic, ASIC design verification using design tools and flows. RTL coding as needed for core interfaces and design integration RTL amd gate level simulation, static timing analysis, DFT design implementation, physical design (plane & route, clock tree, etc.), and test vector generation verification. Using customer specifications and electrical technology descriptions to design new products. Completing design documentation in compliance with Quality and customer requirements. Interfacing with external and internal customers to ensure that designs meet specifications. Communicating regularly with management and other functional groups within Atmel to ensure understanding of needs/problems in relation to the design engineering function. May prepare and present oral report to management and/or clients.
BSEE, BS Computer Science and 5-8 years work related experience necessary. Knowledge and ability to use computer tools such as SPICE, layout software, digital simulation, schematic capture software, DRC (design rule checks) and LUV (layout vs. schematics), spreadsheets and statistical analysis software. Mathematics, electronics, statistical process control, design of experiments, and overall engineering knowledge necessary to sustain, troubleshoot, modify, improve and develop integrated circuit manufacturing processes and device structures. Knowledge of integrated circuit process techniques. Knowledge of digital, analog and memory design is preferred.
