Senior Electrical Engineer

Long Island military electronics company needs a senior level Engineer. Responsible for design, development and test of all aspects of electrical components and equipment on microprocessor based systems.  May concentrate efforts to digital and analog design and perform test functions of developed components or systems. 

·  Designs analog /digital circuits, microprocessors, FPGAs, PWBs, test fixtures.

·  Experience with TI DSP, Freescale PowerPC or PowerQUICC and Xilinx FPGAs are a plus

·  Performs circuit analysis and simulation.

·  Writes test procedures and performs trouble shooting of components and systems.

·  Writes design reports including theory of operation and component stress analysis.

·  Guides Documentation or Design & Drafting personnel in generation of technical reports, procedures and technical drawings.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

BSEE required.  MSEE preferred. Should have several years of experience, and advanced knowledge, in electrical engineering theory and concepts.

·  Knowledge of computer assisted engineering and design software such as Mentor DxDesigner (Viewdraw), PSpice, ModelSim, Power PCB, Power Logic and Xilinx XST.

·  Programming languages such as VHDL.

·  Knowledge of test equipment such as emulators, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

·  Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.

·  Excellent writing skills.

·  Must have or be able to acquire a Secret Clearance from the Department of Defense.

·  This position will require occasional travel.
