Senior Field Applications Engineer

Position may be based in either San Jose Area, Rhode Island or Boston Area.

Picor, a subsidiary of Vicor Corporation, is an advanced power management solutions company dedicated to the advancement of the power conversion industry by providing proprietary technology through innovative solutions in silicon, power architectures and system level packaging. Picor’s custom ASIC solutions provide a key enabling technology powering Vicor’s Brick & VŸI Chip solutions. Picor also has a comprehensive product roadmap focused on creating a portfolio of standard products in the areas of Active Filters, Power Path Management & High Density Power Conversion solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

Proactively support Picor solutions into various strategic market opportunities. This will involve strategic coordination with the global sales organization; providing pre – and post-sales support including product selection based on the customer’s application needs; product design-in & design-win assistance from an electrical, mechanical and thermal aspect, and troubleshooting customer systems.Regular customer visits requiring 50%+ travel, covering US/Canada, Europe, Asia Pacific & Japan as needed with primary focus on Tier 1 customers in strategic market segments.Conducting technical seminars with key customers and at industry events.Providing product training for the global sales organizations Assist with hands-on product evaluations & troubleshootingAssist in external product selection & complete reference design support to ensure effective design in & win of Picor solutions in customer applications, including assistance on optimized PCB layouts.Lead technical discussions and present technical features and benefits of our products to our customers.Application note generation Generation of New Product Ideas & Design Goal Specifications based on qualified customer opportunities.Minimal coverage for in-coming customer phone and email inquiries

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in either analog/power supply design or analog based applications engineering Hands on technical and troubleshooting skillsStrong customer interface skills including active listening, problem solving and strong verbal/written communications skills.
